A Stroke of Luck – BE In The Drivers Seat of LIFE!

By on March 17, 2013

Ever know anyone that had a stroke? Would you know the symptoms? Or what to do? I do, but I was miles away, and learned about it days later.

What made surviving this stroke so amazing was his determination. You see, my brother is (or was) an over-the-road truck driver (following his long career in aerospace). He was in his 18 wheel truck in Salt Lake City when the stroke happened. He was determined to not be alone in a Salt Lake City hospital, so he drove himself to Vegas. Here you have a 55 y/o man that suffered a stroke (and brain damage), drooping face, slurred speech, dizziness, trouble walking, and diarrhea… and he drove himself roughly

500 miles to be with his family?!! Now mind you, had I not been down that road myself (or driven commercially for 9 years), I’d think, WOW. But… not only did he make that steep downhill windy road drive, and skid on ice 4 times, HE DROVE – not easy for anyone in any vehicle (following a stroke), and certainly NOT RECOMMENDED! This, I truly believe was a miracle. Our mother and the gods that be were watching out for him. That, and as he stated… he prayed the entire time.

“What the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”                                                                             ~Napoleon Hill~

He’s a perfect example of this. Five years on the road is a rough life, not exactly health enhancing without some major effort. A month or so prior to his stroke I had sent him a link to Fat, Sick, & Nearly Dead… it is by far one of thee best documentaries I’ve seen. He had already been diagnosed with diabetes several years ago. And as a Diabetic, the risk of stroke is increased. The reason I sent him info on movie was because of a truck driver in the movie that turned his health around. So inspiring – I now recommend this movie to all.

In helping my brother from afar, and without bombarding he or his family, here’s what I’ve sent him and learned more about in the process:

  • Coconut Oil (organic and raw) – excellent for brain (and body) –  http://goo.gl/w4MO0
  • ACV (apple cider vinegar – organic and raw) – helps lower blood pressure. High blood pressure is another risk factor for stroke.
  • Earthing/GO BAREFOOT – a 3+ minute video by an M.D. – http://youtu.be/XumPQLTzPWI
  • Cayenne/African Bird Pepper – excellent for circulation, balancing blood pressure, and clearing blockages. If used soon after a stroke (or heart attack), it can help prevent/reverse damage.
  • Chinese Needle Method/Blood Letting – http://www.snopes.com/medical/disease/stroke.asp – scroll down to First Aid for complete How To
  • Pulling on ears (until red) – helps bring circulation to the brain
  • Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead (.com) documentary – free on Hulu, I watched on Netflix. Although an eye opening movie, I do not recommend fasting by going cold turkey. Best to wean off poor diet and into a healthier one. Detox side effects can make a person believe they are getting worse.
  • GET SQUEEZED FOR LIFE – cardiovascular disease prevention and healing. Amazing alternative to bypass surgery and preventing and reversing stroke damage.

**optional – Diatomaceous Earth – helps lower blood pressure (and so much more). Brand I use:

The following links provides info on how to prevent a stroke, which foods are known to cause one (diet sodas, nonorganic and processed meats, refined salts – use good quality Himalayan, Trans fats found in many packaged products) and more…

Last but not least… just as our vehicle needs regular maintenance and specific fuel, so does our body. So by all means detox (helps keep blood clean and thin) and use food as your Farmacy – the more colors, the more vitamins.

Help yourself and others by knowing what symptoms, the right questions and simple commands to ask such as… smile, raise both arms, stick tongue out, repeat a simple sentence. The following links give more info and easy acronyms to remember…
