DIET: One-Size-Fits-All or A Get-Slim-Quick Pill?

By on April 7, 2013

To survive and thrive requires a diet of sorts – not a weight loss diet per se, but the need to eat diet. We each have our own way of eating/diet. What works for one can be health hazardous to another. This is one reason i stress, we are not a number and one size does not fit all, whether it is a cause (or cure) of dis-ease or a diet, each of us is unique and should be treated (and eat) accordingly. My motto for most of my adult life has been to… eat healthy most hours of the day and days of the week. I’ve never dieted, this alone keeps me lean and rather clean (inside).

I also often say… we crave what is in our blood. This alone is good reason to make it real, good for you, and really good. Whatever our food addiction or ailment may be, there will always be old school rules that apply to everyone, such as to: chew your food thoroughly, image eat real food, and avoid FrankenFood/processed, fast foods. Fast food, by the way, is  hardly fast. Fast to prepare (or buy) and eat, but longer to eliminate.

Optimal weight and health do not come in the form of a pill, by paying someone to weigh you every week, and especially not by undergoing invasive ludicrous surgery. Falling for the celebrity endorsed diets, the, who knows how many million or billion dollar a year organizations just makes them richer (like being addicted to Starbucks). Where is self control or empowerment in this? Paying for weigh-in may be reason to celebrate or frustrate, but it does not educate. Some succeed yes, but most only for a short period of time or long enough for a special occasion. This yo-yo dieting is far from healthy.

My degree is in Holistic Nutrition, however, my emphasis and passion have always been in detox simply because without it… we can’t absorb a whole lot, no matter how good the diet/food is! Plus, the results detox bring are incredible – a weight loss and spa treatment all in one. A bonus is, you walk away with some life long “How To” tools! Its like a super tune-up for your interior and detailing of the exterior. It’ll make anyone look and run better! Just as our vehicle needs regular maintenance to keep oil clean and moving, so does our body to keep the blood clean and us thin. Common sense dis-ease prevention and natural healing doesn’t get any easier than this!

My book Ageless Aging covers over twenty cleanses, all of which I’ve done except for one. A kidney stone dissolver, because I have not had the need, but I’ve helped others with it, so I know it works. One diet I list is from the book, Eat Right For Your Blood Type. I tried this diet (for health not weight loss) for a month. It did not suit me or my taste buds well. Part of it also didn’t make sense, while other parts made perfect sense from the perspective of foods I’ve avoided because my body did not agree with. I’ve seen this diet work extremely well for others, however, one friend that has eaten this way for more than a decade ended up with kidney stones. We must understand though that, many ailments (from minor to major) can be of emotional cause, kidneys in this case representing fear.

Weight loss aside, I’m curious as to how many people would benefit from a new diet I’ve just read about. I’ve had the book and figured it was just another regimented “diet.” But it isn’t. It doesn’t treat anyone like a number (for the most part). There are variations based on nutritional typing. According to authors, one of which is a doctor, it takes into account how our body metabolizes food. Many have not only lost weight, they’ve also reversed health conditions. All this, without counting calories! That was the part of nutrition I hated. Not only am not one for details, counting calories isn’t needed when you eat real food!

Speaking of real food, click on the photo for the online questionnaire to determine what foods are best for you. Once you take the test, you’ll be emailed a link to a copy of his book. Great info, including many healthy recipes. I’ve been following this doctor for more than a decade. He’s got a lot of imagegreat information. However, one reason I put his book aside (a year or so ago) was that his ego began to roar its ugly head, and he wasn’t giving credit where credit was due. Fakers, Takers, and Showxasers are a huge turn off for me.

With that aside and because my passion is to help stop the needless suffering and premature deaths that I saw both parents endure, I’ve put his ego aside and decided to share his book because diet is key to unlocking your door to health. When we’re healthy, weight will not be an issue. This book and the questionnaire are now free. We’ve got nothing to lose. Now that I’ve taken the test and read the book, I’m ready to try his recommendations (minus some meats). If not for yourself, do it for your children. I’d be curious to know how it helps others.
