Live Long & Lean with A Clean Liver

By on May 17, 2010
DISEASE DOESN’T JUST HAPPEN OVERNIGHT! As my former employer Dr. Richard Schulze states, heart disease, cancers, most all diseases develop months, even years after your liver failed to keep your blood clean. Having a clean liver can also help keep your weight under control. Jack Osbourne (son of Ozzy) shed nearly 70 pounds by cleaning his liver and body. I’ve helped some lose 15, 30, 40 and 50+ plus pounds by getting their liver clean. There are many liver cleanses out there, some good, some bad, and some for the brave. My book includes 7 different liver cleanses – the following is another I recently came across.
LIVER/GALLBLADDER CLEANSE
INGREDIENTS:
2 egg yolks – room temperature
1 tbsp. olive oil
3 limes – juiced
Combine ingredients, stir and drink. Best done on an empty stomach, first thing in the morning.
As with any liver cleanse, until you know how your body reacts… have or know of facilities nearby. Also use caution when passing gas – you may put out more than air. Our diet and level of congestion will determine our benefits (and side effects) and how often to repeat.
In the beginning, more cleansing is typically needed… anywhere from 1-2 times/month to get your body eliminating would work well for most people. Hulda Clark recommends doing her liver cleanse every 2 weeks until 2,000 gallstones are eliminated. This is great advice, however, it may take trying out a couple of different cleanses before stones (and more) are dislodged. By dislodging I mean there are layers of stuck on waste in our body and organs.
When I did this cleanse, I got very little out, but that’s not to say it won’t work well for others. This is because our diets effect our insides differently. And although I’ve done a lot of “work” on myself, over 15 years of regular detoxing, and I still tap into some rather interesting stuff. If I didn’t think it wasn’t an effective cleanse, I wouldn’t be writing about it. It’s certainly not vegan friendly!
The following quote is so utterly ridiculous to me – even a mechanic knows a vehicle needs its oil and filter changed (bare minimum), and this… with a strict intake of fuel only in the tank. Imagine what would happen if we put a french fry, or the gods forbid… sugar and sticky carbs in our tank. It’s time we treat our bodies better than our vehicles!

But despite the popularity of detox diets, nutrition experts say they are not necessary nor are they scientifically proven to work.”   ~Kathleen M. Zelman, MPH. RD. LD – from WebMD “Expert” Column~
