Menopause Muffin-Top Making You Mad?

By on August 17, 2013

You’re not alone! Male or female, the battle of the bulge continues. Though with men, I refer to it as belly over belt (BOB). Whatever the cause or gender, it is only permanent if you allow it! It can be a thing of the past by simply getting your body clean. A clean body and liver are also a natural anti-depressant. Since our liver is the organ of emotions and anger, getting it clean will do more than wittle your waist, it just might make you witty!

So many symptoms can come with peri/menopause. From weight gain, to rashes, to hot flashes and more. I’m thankful I don’t get hot flashes, but that’s because my diet and body are rather clean. I have, however, gotten cold flashes. As for weight gain, I’ve gained 5 – 7 pounds, but I blame it on my 6th month as a gypsy. That, and I don’t have my hula-hoop. I have yet to find anything that works so well at eliminating any and all bulge. One simple pleasure I can keep with me is my daily dose of green tea. That alone helps keep me cleaner and leaner. Once when buying my organic green tea, an older Asian gentleman told me… you keep drinking that and you’ll be thin forever. As he demonstrated a curvy figure with his hands going down his waist.

I don’t weigh myself, never even owned a scale. I’m not attached to my weight only on how I feel and how my clothes fit. My 50-year major tune-up has included a wonderful cardio/lymph treatment, where I gotta weigh myself daily (for a total of 35 days). This is how I know my weight. I do know as I enter menopause, I get bloated to the point of feeling like a beached whale. These premenstrual days I can’t help BUT eat light – I’m full without eating.

The key with all is moderation. Even healthy things such as raw organic nuts and seeds can make the thighs thicker and the waist wider. Just today I read an article that tea and coffee can contribute to a healthy liver. I believe this is partly due to they both help keep the bowel regular. A clean digestive tract makes for a clean liver and vice versa. Imagine what would happen if the oil in your vehicle never got changed? It’d get thick and dirty. Well, your body is no different. And consider what you fuel your vehicle with, in comparison to what goes in your body. Only that which will keeps it running… gasoline. Just know coffee as a drink can be beneficial, used as a necessity can wreak havoc on your adrenals and dehydrate you. Coffee enemas on the other hand, do wonders for eliminating waste and excess waist!

“I find that many women with a fatty liver are taking inappropriate hormone replacement therapy, which is aggravating their obesity. It is not wise to take tablets containing strong or synthetic hormones, as these will increase the workload of the liver.” ~Dr. Sandra Cabot, M.D, The Liver Doctor~

Drugs and/or hormone replacements are not the answer. A clean body and diet are. Above all, embrace this change and know that as you enter menopause you should consider detoxing regularly. Gone will be the days of monthly menstrual cycles, each of which helped your body detox. **Too much iron in your blood has been linked to women and heart disease.

“Menopause is an exciting developmental stage—one that, when participated in consciously, holds enormous promise for transforming and healing our bodies, minds, and spirits at the deepest levels.” ~Christiane Northrup, M.D., The Wisdom of Menopause~
