SUGAR: Artificial and Addicting

I’ll never forget how much weight (tho mostly inches) I lost when I gave up sugar. And these were pounds/inches I really couldn’t afford to lose. However, I did it because I was addicted to sugar, or should I say… ICE CREAM.

We all scream for ICE CREAM.

As much as I try to NOT make these posts about me, sometimes a story is better than any scientific research. Especially when your face is no longer puffy. And the reason it was such a big deal is that I blamed the puffiness on my construction job. An occupation that averaged 14-hour days on little sleep.

What an eye opener that was! One that led to me realizing… We crave what’s in our blood. It was also the beginning of my love affair with wonderful world of DETOX. Those 3-days of major sugar withdrawals/detox led me to my purpose. Not only did I no longer need my fix, 20+ years later the power of food and detox remain my passion. In helping others realize the same.

Sugar and Wrinkles

If you’re serious about your health, extending your life, keeping your brain thinking or even just worried about wrinkles… Stop eating sugar and the foods that turn into it.

It is no wonder, Alzheimer’s is now considered Type 3 Diabetes. It’s brain inflammation. Which brings up the wrinkle issue… Sugar, like too much of the wrong salt, can puff you up. What puffs up must shrink, leaving wrinkles. I see it time and time again. A real tell-tale sign are bags under and/or wrinkles around eyes.

Before reaching for a sugar substitute however, know that Nutrasweet and Equal both have aspartame. AKA… the crack cocaine of the food industry (along with MSG).

What To Do?!

  • Use an organic stevia instead or other healthier alternatives
  • Detox
  • Eat/drink probiotic rich foods (kefir, kimchi, kombucha, etc)–they help with cravings, including alcohol.
  • Stop eating the stuff that turns to sugar (wheat and white flour breads, pastas, pastries)

If sugar has been your drug of choice, imagine this… for most, this is topped with not enough water. So, like a raisin and prune dry up and shrivel, you and your brain will too!

And to THINK… kids are given it as a treat
