Weight Loss – The Weighting Game

“If you believe that weight loss requires self-deprivation, I’m going to teach you otherwise.” ~Robert Atkins~

One thing I cannot stand is when a person equates progress solely on what the scale says. This, by weighing themselves daily. Not only do they allow their VANITY TO LEAD TO INSANITY, they instantly get discouraged and/or want to try something different. Thus the many cupboards I’ve seen full of partially used product and weight loss gimmicks. Just as weight doesn’t come on overnight, it’s not going away in a day, especially if long term results are desired.

For women, yes we tend to gain weight during our menstrual cycle then again during menopause, but reasons are hormonal. Besides craving the not-so-nourishing foods that are in our blood, eating more is a nutritional requirement. It is similar to pregnant women needing more. I for one always allow myself to eat more protein and FAT (and OFTEN) during that time, especially now as I enter menopause, my brain and body just feel better.

“It’s well known that women undergo hormonal changes every month due to the menstrual cycle. These changes can cause women to eat more, which is a natural, biological occurrence.” ~ScienceDaily.com~

And as IF the thought of weight lost is not enough, some wonder where the weight goes once it’s lost. Although this study believes it is lost via energy, heat or the breathing out of carbon dioxide. I, like some of the respondents believe it is pooped out, especially when you add a liver cleanse to the weight loss mix. That flushes the fat away. I also believe when we sweat, it goes out with the toxins.

“While weight loss is important, what’s more important is the quality of food you put in your body – food is information that quickly changes your metabolism and genes.” ~Mark Hyman~
